October 2013 Webinar on Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, person-centered approach to facilitate behavioral and lifestyle change. In a 90-minute Webinar, Dr. Judith Bayog, licensed psychologist and clinic director of the Alcohol & Drug Treatment Program Outpatient Clinic at the Brockton Division of the VA Boston Healthcare System, provided an overview of MI designed for primary care clinicians and behavioral health providers. Dr. Bayog shared the basic principles and key concepts of MI that help to establish rapport, engage and retain clients in treatment, and guide them toward change. In addition, Dr. Bayog reviewed applications of MI across cultures and settings.
