Departments and Regions
To meet the growing number of Members and to better support its providers, the Massachusetts Behavioral Partnership (MBHP) operates regional offices in three cities across Massachusetts. MBHP's central office is located in Boston, and regional offices are located in Worcester and Holyoke.
The departments within MBHP work closely together to coordinate program efforts
to support our Members. The main departments and their responsibilities at MBHP
are:
Clinical Operations: Ensures that Members have access to
appropriate, effective, and quality mental health services.
Quality Management: Ensures quality of care, reviews Member
complaints and provider concerns and critical incidents; produces provider
profiles; and audits medical records.
Community Relations: Assists providers and Members with
questions and concerns regarding claims, benefits, eligibility, contracting,
and rates. Establishes programs to prevent, minimize, or detect behavioral
health disorders.
Network Management: Oversees service development and
expansion, provider credentialing, outlier management, and network monitoring.
Management Information Systems: Manages the Managed Healthcare
System, which contains all claims, enrollment, inquiries, referrals,
assessments, care management, appeals, and other related information.
Claims: Receives and processes all claims, prints and mails
all authorization letters and provider payments, corrects Member eligibility
issues, investigates fraud and abuse.
Reporting: Generates reports, which are shared with the
Division of Medical Assistance and other agencies, to identify trends in the
MassHealth program and to shape program development at the Partnership.
Finance: Manages the general financial operations, including
payroll, accounts payable, budgets, financial statements, and forecasting
Medical Affairs: Assists providers with mental health services
for Members and manages the care for all Members who are receiving medical
assistance.
